Review: The Walking Dead, Vol. 07: The Calm Before

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ahhh… The first read of the day… And now I’m so freaking stressed out! I’m in shock and awe right now. All the events contained within the volume were just like watching one of those episodes so stressful, I don’t think I took a breath once.

I did not expect a single event that happened. Carol? She’s not even the character I’ve come to love. Judith!!! I’m so happy to see her arrive in this world. So good!

I’m not sure what else I can say without spoiling something for someone. Can’t mention names and events and …

Volume 8 here I come!

Review: The Walking Dead, Vol. 06: This Sorrowful Life

This one gets five stars just because of a certain comeuppance a certain character got that he totally deserves!!! I’m evil laughing to the heavens, it was that good.

And the events are similar yet different from the show. So some I was expecting, but the new was even better than I could imagine. It was such a good volume, I read it quickly, then went back and poured over the art, except one part. (I have a thing and can’t stand seeing things related to it…)

THIS IS THE BEST ISSUE SO FAR!!!

Review: The Walking Dead, Vol. 05: The Best Defense

The Walking Dead, Vol. 05: The Best Defense
The Walking Dead, Vol. 05: The Best Defense by Robert Kirkman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

And so we meet the most hated man in the Walking Dead Universe. To me. This side of Negan, anyway. That’s right. I’m talking about the Governor.

So, the prison is doing okay. Lori is going pregnancy insane. (It is hot and there are no doctors and there’s dead people walking around so it is totally allowed.) Rick takes off with Glenn and Michonne…not quite the story I remember from the show…

But then we come upon Woodbury. It’s almost one of those situations where I want to say, “Can’t you all coexist?” But I held my tongue… Turns out it’s not too far a stretch from the show. Turns out I totally can hate The Governor much much more than I ever thought. And I did not like what all that insane man did to Rick, Michonne, Glenn…I sat with my jaw dangling.
