Review: #Junkie

#Junkie by Cambria Hebert
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book came as a great surprise to me. I’m not sure what I thought I was picking up on Kindle when I go this. Could have been an accidental purchase. Which does happen. I went into the story thinking it was one of my typical romances…

And it was for the most part. Total M/M story. I didn’t mind it at all.

Drew Forrester is a speed #junkie. He races cars and doesn’t brake often. And by races, I mean on the streets and not the track.

Trent Mask is a football player and frat boy at the local university. He’s Drew’s best friend.

One drunken night at a frat party as Drew is putting Trent to bed, Trent spills a little secret about himself. He has a crush on Drew.

And so begins this very rom-com story of two guys who might like each other, but it might be weird, but the heart wants what it wants. Love cannot be denied. Can it?

It was sweet and frustrating and so good. The love story mixes and mingles with a sports/frat story and zooms in and around a racing story. SO much going on, but it works seemlessly. I can’t say enough about this book. And a word of warning, and i hope this isn’t spoiling anything…

IT ENDED WITH A CLIFFHANGER!!! Needless to say, i bought the second book just so I could read more and get some sort of resolution to their story. There are two more books beyond this one in the GearShark series. But the first two center on Drew and Trent’s will they/should they relationship.

It was a great story. M/M again…in case it’s not glaringly obvious…or should you sleep-buy books, too.
