Reading Theme ~ January 2017

WELCOME 2017!!!

This year is starting off with a bang!

And with that, the books I plan to read this month fall into one of two categories.

Highly anticipated: Carve the Mark and the Divergent epilogue top that list for me (16 days left until!) I feel like I’ve been waiting to hear about Four after the Divergent Series since, well, the short stories from Four’s POV came out a few years ago. Carve the Mark is the beginning of a new series for Veronica Roth. Since I’ve loved the Divergent Series so much, I’ve been really excited about this one since, I think, August (2016) when I first heard about it.

The highly rated: First would be God Pharm by Garrett Roper and Bennett Smith. This one has almost five stars on Goodreads… like borderline five. The Paper Princess by Erin Watt has been raved about in my feed. Simon vs. the Homo Sapien Agenda by Becky Albertalli is one of those books so many people have sworn I need to read because I enjoy LGTBQ stories and this is an important one. Uprooted by Naomi Novik is one I got at Comic Con 2015 and has been on my shelf with reviews going sky high and passing us by.

It’s a good start to the year in books as far as I can figure. I’m sure I’ll find some other highly rated and newly anticipated books as the month progresses. Usually do. And I’ll take any rec’s in my comments for books I shouldn’t miss to get this year going.

January 2017 ~ STARTING WITH A BIG BANG!!!

Happy new year!
